Eligo Bioscience’s mission is to develop precision medicines to address serious unmet medical needs in the fields of inflammatory diseases, infectious diseases and oncology.

Backed by top-tier investors from Silicon Valley and Europe, Eligo is an industry-leading biotechnology company, co-founded by scientists and professors from MIT and the Rockefeller University – now operating in Paris, France. We are progressing next-generation precision medicines through in vivo gene editing of the microbiome.

Our pioneering work in the field of synthetic biology has enabled Eligo to be elected as one of the 30 Most Innovative Companies by the World Economic Forum and to receive multiple prestigious international awards. We have also been featured in international media and scientific journals such as Nature Biotechnology, Science, The Economist, The BBC and The New York Times.

We are at a very exciting point in time of the Eligo journey, as we are embarking on the transition from a start-up deeply rooted in innovation to a clinical stage biotech, with the objective to bring our lead program to the clinic within the next two years. In parallel, we are also ramping up our efforts in target discovery and early preclinical programs to support the development of new assets from our Eligobiotic platform. In this context, we are looking for a high-performing and enthusiastic scientist to join the Bioinformatics team and support the development of Eligo’s programs across the portfolio.

Eligo Bioscience has attracted a diverse set of top talent from all over the world who are driven, passionate, and motivated to impact the lives of patients by applying cutting-edge science to save lives and treat chronic disease. Eligo embraces diversity, equal opportunity and inclusion, and is committed to building diverse teams in a fast-paced environment fostering scientific excellence and benevolence.

Your Mission

The Bioinformatics Scientist will join Eligo’s Bioinformatics team and play a crucial role in providing strategic and technical expertise across every project in Eligo’s portfolio. Working in an ever-evolving environment, the ideal candidate is someone who can autonomously dig into cutting-edge research publications, test experimental open-source solutions, build and adapt scripts and tools to match the current needs of the company, and run long analyses efficiently thanks to their excellent organizational, multitasking, and automation skills. They will be expected to present their findings and methodologies to other teams within the organization, ensuring that the information is communicated with scientific rigor and clarity.

We are looking forward to working with someone who is excited to support the advancement of different drug products towards the clinic, to drive innovative exploratory projects, and to be part of an energetic, creative, and supportive team of bioinformaticians.

    • analyzing and interpreting genetic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and epigenetic data (mainly prokaryotic)
    • protein structure prediction
    • protein-protein interaction prediction
    • DNA sequence optimization
    • generating and visualizing comparative genomic/pangenomic data for different organisms
    • safety evaluation and assessment of regulatory compliance of drug candidates
  • improving and running existing public or proprietary tools
  • analyzing complex datasets and presenting results to colleagues with diverse backgrounds
  • proactively identifying opportunities to apply bioinformatics, automation, or other computational methods to accelerate drug development efforts
  • staying up-to-date with relevant developments and best practices in the field
  • like every other Eligonaut, bringing personal experiences and a community-focused mindset to add to our culture of excellence, transparency, and kindness
